Snow Day

By nickrymer - Posted on 28 February 2009

According to the Tuscaloosa News, the recent snow in Tuscaloosa was as most snow we had had since 1997.

From the Tuscaloosa News: "Mark Rose, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Birmingham, said the last time Tuscaloosa County had snowfall totals of 2 inches was in 1997.
It’s been even longer since more snow than that fell.
“The last time y’all had 3-inch totals was back in 1964,” Rose said.
Despite nearly every inch of the county being blanketed in the icy fluff, Tuscaloosa’s winter wonderland didn’t last long.
By 3 p.m., there was hardly an undissolved snowflake left in town as temperatures rose from the low 30s to the upper 30s and the sun replaced cloudy skies."
