It's gourmet happy hour at the Alcove, where they'll be preparing gourmet cocktails with local produce from Snow's Bend Farm.

Tuesday July 6th

Bama Theater - Art House Film Series continues with "A Prophet," a French gangster movie set in prison that's described as "brilliantly acted, thoroughly violent, with a hip score to boot."

Tuscaloosa Public Library at 2:30 PM, part of their summer series "Make a Splash," they'll have MOSOSAURS! Learn about the mosasaur, an ancient swimming reptile that once ruled the sea that covered Alabama, with Todd Hester, UA's museum naturalist.

Thursday July 8th

Mellow Mushroom - LIGHTBOXES Art Show, with local art from the likes of Elliott McPherson from the Dexateens as well as folks spinning their favorite vinyl. It's a five dollar cover with all proceeds going to the families of the Gulf Coast.

We were really saddened by the passing of a Tuscaloosa legend "Dave the Metal Guy" We pleased to announce a benefit that will serve as a remembrance of Dave. The show will be be free but with a sugeted donation of $3 to $5 that will go straight to his family to help them cover the cost of putting him to rest. The bands will be Random Conflict, Death Lights, and a special metal set by Baak Gwai.
